Centred Supervised Visitation Services

Safety. Stability. Connection.

Connecting Families

At the Centre for Holistic Therapies, we recognize that supervised visitation is more than simply observing an interaction. Families come to supervised visitation with different histories, needs, court requirements, and levels of complexity.

Our Centred Supervised Visitation Services offer three distinct levels of support so that families can receive the degree of structure and professional involvement appropriate to their circumstances.

Tier 3

Centred Supervised Visitation (CSV)

Neutral • Safe • Structured
Provided by a Centre-Trained Visitation Specialist
Centred Supervised Visitation is our foundational level of supervised visitation. It is designed for families who require a safe, neutral third party to oversee parent-child contact without therapeutic intervention. The provider maintains appropriate boundaries, monitors safety, observes interactions, and creates factual documentation of the visit.

Tier 2

Advanced Supervised Visitation (ASV)

Regulation • Connection • Skill Building
Provided by a Centre-Trained and Conscious Discipline®-Trained Provider
Advanced Supervised Visitation goes beyond basic monitoring by incorporating a brain-state and nervous-system-informed approach to interactions between children and caregivers.
Children experiencing family conflict, separation, disrupted attachment, or major transitions may communicate distress through their behavior. Our providers are trained to recognize when a child may be functioning from a survival or emotional state and to use appropriate strategies to support movement toward greater regulation, connection, and problem-solving.
Rather than simply asking, “How do we stop this behavior?” we also consider, “What might this child need in order to feel safe enough to regulate and reconnect?”

Tier 1

Therapeutic Supervised Visitation (TSV)

Healing • Attachment • Reconnection
Provided by a Qualified Mental Health Professional
Therapeutic Supervised Visitation is the highest level of intervention within our supervised visitation continuum.
TSV combines the safety and structure of supervised visitation with intentional therapeutic intervention designed to address barriers affecting the parent-child relationship.
The clinician may actively intervene during visits to support emotional regulation, improve communication, address unhealthy interaction patterns, strengthen attachment, and help caregivers respond more effectively to the child's emotional needs.

FAQs

How do I know which level of supervised visitation my family needs?

You do not have to determine this on your own. Centred Supervised Visitation Services offers three levels of support: Centred Supervised Visitation (CSV), Advanced Supervised Visitation (ASV), and Therapeutic Supervised Visitation (TSV).

Our initial intake and “What’s Next?” questionnaire helps us understand your court requirements, safety considerations, the parent-child relationship, the child’s emotional and developmental needs, and the type of support that may be beneficial. After reviewing this information, we will discuss the appropriate next step with you.

What happens during a supervised visit?

That depends on the level of service. CSV provides neutral safety monitoring, structure, and factual documentation. ASV adds support for regulation, transitions, communication, and healthier parent-child interactions. TSV is provided by a qualified mental health professional and includes therapeutic intervention when there are more significant barriers to connection, attachment, or healthy interaction.

Across all levels, our goal is to create an environment that prioritizes the child’s physical and emotional safety while supporting meaningful parent-child connection whenever appropriate.

Do you provide reports to attorneys or the court?

Documentation depends on the level of service, the purpose of the referral, applicable authorizations, and any court requirements. Supervised visitation documentation may include attendance, arrival and departure times, observable parent-child interactions, significant events, interventions by the provider, and responses to those interventions.

Our providers distinguish what was directly observed from what was reported by others. Supervised visitation is not automatically a custody evaluation, and our role is not to determine which parent should receive custody or to establish whether disputed allegations are true or false.
